Review: Pinot in grey

What: Pinot embellished dress by Byron Lars for Anthropologie

When: Winter 2016

How (Material): Polyester everywhere! This is usually a big no in my book, but the dress is simply gorgeous.ebelandi_anthropologie_pinot_embellished_dress_1

Why (Pros):

  1. Look: The look is simple, a fitted dress with modest sleeves. But with Byron Lars, the secret is all in the details and oh my did they deliver on this one! Just take a look at my pictures below and judge for yourself. Looking forward to wearing this to a party!

  2. Comfort: Comfortable but very fitted. It reached right at my knees so I would say it falls right below knees on regular frames, as shown per the Anthropologie picture below.

  3. Quality: Great quality. Detailing work is outstanding!

  4. Sizing: True to size but you may want to size up for looser fit.  However, I have sized up for another dress (that I shall review next) and I’d recommend you stick with your regular size.

Why Not (Cons): The steep price tag, oh my! However, with the 30% promotion going on you may save $300 on the full price.ebelandi_anthropologie_pinot_embellished_dress_6 ebelandi_anthropologie_pinot_embellished_dress_7 ebelandi_anthropologie_pinot_embellished_dress_8 ebelandi_anthropologie_pinot_embellished_dress_9

Sissi’s Verdict: Keeper, if you can afford it! What do you say?

A week in Tulum, Mexico

For our first year anniversary, we spent time at the all-inclusive Dreams Tulum Resort on the Riviera Maya in Tulum, Mexico.  The weather is quite hot and humid in Mexico in August but we had a wonderful time nonetheless, enjoyed the food, the beach (despite the irregular surplus of algae) and touring the Mayan ruins of Tulum and Chichen Itza.

Review: Versailles Dress

WhatVersailles Dress by Moulinette Soeurs

ebelandi_anthropologie_versailles_dress_review_3

Season: Summer 2015

Material: Cotton and polyester

Quality: Excellent! The lace is well done, and the cream and fuschia pair very nicely! Love the lining with mesh which adds to the whole effect.

ebelandi_anthropologie_versailles_dress_review_2

Fit: True to size

Pros: The colors, the midi (really knee) length and the interesting almost-there sleeves, machine washable!

Cons: May have just a little too many layers for some

Review: Pleated Plaid Dress

What: Pleated Plaid dress by Anthropologie

ebelandi_anthropologie_plaid_dress_1

Season: Spring 2015

Material: 100% cotton outer with polyester faux-necklace, 100% poly lining

ebelandi_anthropologie_plaid_dress_2

Quality: Very good! Brown is not my favorite color when it comes to clothing but the plaids are nicely done and the faux African inspired necklace was a classy addition.  Overall, great quality despite the poly blend at the top as well as the poly lining.

Fit: True to size but it may be a little tight fit on bust area if you’re heavy chested.
