Reviews: Majesty Peacoat in Stadium Cloth

A great deal on the Majesty Peacoat.  I have the light grey from previous seasons and have purchased the navy and decadent red during the 50% “HAPPYSALE” promo this season.  This promo is still active until tomorrow.

Pros: this is a classic, I’ve worn my peacoat with pretty much everything. No bulk even when you layer underneath.  The golden buttons and cut match up well.  I love the contrasting colors between the exterior wool and the interior polyester. The decadent red and a navy interior, while the navy wool has a rich red interior.  And was I surprised to see that the light grey from previous seasons has a matching interior but depending on the angle, it turns orange as shown below 🙂 nice surprise!

Cons: original price but with promo and the extra 50% off, it was worth it

Material: 79% wool and 21% polyester

Fit: true-to-size, the fit is slightly loose, not designed to be tight (unlike the Lady Day coat or the Metro coat).

Sissi’s verdict: keeper, if you are able to get it with extra 50% off!  Do you agree? Please share! You can see the top on Long Leggy Loving and its factory version reviewed by Gigi.

J.Crew Review: Convertible Toggle Coat

Another 40% item (the code “TAKENOTE” is still valid): the Toggle Coat in brilliant flame.  J.Crew does not offer the coat in Tall, so I chose one size up for extra length.

Pros: gorgeous color, a very bright orangish red. Mid length, great quality, versatile with the zipper to remove the hood for a different style.  Also, a hidden zipper in addition to the buttons in the front.

Cons: The hood does not leave much space to fully cover your head (unless I simply have a big one 😉 ); the price tag is high considering the coat is a mixture of wool and polyester, without thinsulate lining for added warmth.  In fact, the coat is pretty light weight, I would say the Majesty Peacoat is much warmer, with a softer wool.

Fit: I’d say true to size for regular; if you are taller than average, I’d recommend to go one or two sizes up to get a decent length in the sleeves.

Material:80% wool and 20% nylon with 100% polyester lining

Sissi’s verdict: final sale so will keep. However, if you are interested in the look, you may want to consider the Runswick Duffle by Jack Wills.  You can see the coat on ClassyGirlsWearPearls as well.
